【摘要】:Thisspecificationestablishestheperformancecharacteristicsrequiredformechanicallyattachedfittings(MAFs)foruseinpipingandtubingsystems.Thesefittingsdirectlyattachtopipeortubebymechanicaldeformationofthepipeortubeorfitting,oracombinationthereof,creatingasealandarestrainedjoint.Thesealmaybecreatedviathemechanicaldeformationorcreatedindependently.Successfulcompletionofthetestsdescribedconstitutescompletionofthetechnicalportionofthequalificationprocess.Supplementaryrequirementsareprovidedforusewhenadditionaltestingorinspectionisdesired.Theseshallapplyonlywhenspecifiedinpartorwholebythepurchaserintheorder.Unlessotherwisespecified,U.S.Navycontractsshallinvokethesupplementaryrequirementsinwhole.UnlessspecificMAFtypesarespecified,theterm"MAF"shallapplytoalltypesdescribedherein.ThetestsspecifiedinSectionanddescribedinandSupplementaryRequirementsareapplicableonlytoascertaintheperformancecharacteristicsofMAFs.Thesetestsarenotintendedforuseintheevaluationofnon-MAFproducts.AfireperformancetestisspecifiedinSupplementaryRequirementS7.ThistestprovidesgeneralguidelinestodeterminetheresponsivenessofMAFswhensubjectedtofire.Thistestshouldnotbeconsideredforusetoevaluatenon-MAFproducts.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.ThefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatappliesonlytothetestslistedinSectionandthetestsdescribedintheSupplementarySection13andtheAnnexofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
